Piece of Cake/A'la Mode

Type: Cross Country,
Difficulty: Intermediate
Length: 5 km
Status: Open

Trail Description

This trail was built to give people without leather lungs a chance to access the Lower Sproat area.
The trail is accessed by the yellow gate at the top of Cardiac Hill on the West Side of Alta Lake Road.
The climb gives an alternative to the super steep sections of the Lower Sproat Trail and makes up a major portion of the West Side Wheel Up course which is held each September.
Lots of solid bridges and ramps with some great little rock drops and bermed corners to make it flow.
This was one of the last projects for Chris Markle, the trail chef and was financed by the good folks who are developing Stonebridge.
Thanks Duane and Bill!

Directions

Access is off of Alta Lake Road at the top of Cardiac hill across from the Nita Lake employee housing just go through the yellow gate across from the Bus Shelter

Piece of cake

This trail is really fun to ride backwards: start at the upper section of Lower Sproatt(across the street from the Danimal North trailhead). Ride Lower Sproatt until you see the Piece of Cake sign. You may have to hike a bit to get there, but the last section makes it all worthwhile.
