Trail Description

Cougar Mountain Bike Trails. This area just north of Whsitler offers fine cross country type routes with features like a grove of rare high altitude cedars, fly fishing at Showh Lakes and descents into the magnificent Soo Valley. The entrance is left off Hwy 99 on the Cougar Mountain Forestry Road, a kilometer or so north of Emerald Estates. From the highway climb two kilometers or so to the stables. From here it is left to Soo Valley or right up to Showh Lakes and the Ancient Cedars. The Soo Valley Loop is true cross-country double track with no technical requirements but lots of vertical and incredible scenery. From your left at the stables take your first right and descend over 600 meters into the Soo Valley and right at the bottom out to the Hwy 99. From here it’s a 20 km ride back to the Village. For the Ancient Cedars and Showh Lakes continue up right from the stables. Your first right will take you directly up to the cedars while a left will loop you by the Lakes and rejoin the trail to the cedars.
