Trail Description
The Cheakamus Lake Trail is nestled into one of the few examples of real virgin forest in the Whistler area. Cheakamus Lake trail in Garibaldi Park, is a mellow, kid-friendly 8 kilometer out and back. This intermediate single track wends its way through mature fir and cedar to the lake with it’s wilderness campsites and continues another couple of kilometers alongside of the lake. This is one of the few Garibaldi Park trails open to bike traffic (no dogs) and is heavily used by hikers and bikers. Courtesy here may go a long way to seeing other Park trails open to cyclists.
Directions
Head up Cheakamus Lake Road from Function Junction.
You wwill climb close to 7 km. to the parkng lot.
Don't drive unless you have little kids. Great to tie in the Riverside Trails all the way back down instead of the road.
