It’s time for early season Trail checks and we need volunteers! Our first 2 Trail Days are scheduled for May 16th and May 23rd.
The objective is to check all trails for their condition after the winter and trim back Branches, Bushes etc. Please let us know if you will be able to attend - and for which day - by email at info@worca.com so we can plan how many breakfasts to prepare!

How it works:
After a WORCA sponsored breakfast at Riverside Café, you will in your group walk a specific trail in the valley and perform the above tasks. You may show up as a single, pair or group. We will assign your team a trail to perform the tasks below.

Walk a trail and cut back branches and bushes. Check for any winter snow damage (erosion) also checks the bridges and stunts for damage. Record the location of all deadfall, which needs to be cut. Also record snow line if you could not walk farther. When you return home we request every Volunteer to send in a Trail report on the WORCA website. This trail inventory is important to establish issues on specific Trails and cut out any trees fallen from the winter.

You should bring gardening shears, clippers or smaller portable saws, gardening gloves or old biking gloves and be ready ofor hiking damp trails. Some water and a snack are also a good idea you may be working between 2-3 hours.
