Whistler Bike Guide Exceptional Guides

At WBG Adventures our guides bring a passion and commitment to each ride that just feels right. The trails seamlessly weave together in combinations that stretch from ½ day journeys to multi-day cross-country adventures. We like to tread lightly and move in small groups and leave no trace except our tire patterns. Our guides carry all the stuff to do trail-side repairs and we encourage everyone who rides with us to do the same because we get in some remote areas. Our guides will steer you towards trails that hardly get ridden anymore along with area favourites. Wicked climbs and rolling ridgelines followed by mind-blowing descents that flow beautifully down to the valley floor.

When you join WBG Adventures for one of our classic MTB tours you get the guides and trails that will both suit and challenge your riding and fitness ability. Private tours, women’s only programs and family adventures await, all you have to do is choose your experience options on the ride menu and the journey begins.

Grant Lamont

GrantHe is one of the owners and hails from Lynn Valley on the North Shore of Vancouver and first rode his fat-tires back in the early 80’s. Grant moved to Whistler in 86 and met all the Bro’s and dove headfirst into trying to ride any day he could. He then met Charlie Doyle and through mutual connections ended up publishing the first Whistler Bike Guide in 1990. Now 17 years later Grant has been one of the many people who put Whistler on the map as a mountain bike epicenter. Book on for a tour with Grant and you will see and hear things that will make you laugh along for most of the day. He love’s early morning riding and has initiated our Early Bird Program.

Charlie Doyle

Guide NameCharlie arrived in Whistler for a ski weekend in 1972. He’s still here. He had been touring and exploring local logging roads, riding an old Raleigh 10 speed, when mountain bikes appeared on the Whistler scene in the early 80’s and he was all over it. “The old road bike hasn’t seen a lot of action since” he chuckled. Doyle raced bikes for a decade or so, co-published the original mountain bike guide for this area, was involved in establishing WORCA, is partnered with Grant and Chris in Whistler Bike Guide, has ridden all over the world but always returns to Whistler. “Yeah, you can quote me……….from the North Shore to the South Chilcoten, there is nowhere on the planet that comes close to the riding in our back yard.”

Chris Susko

Guide NameI moved out to Whistler in 93 and have been taking advantage of all that Whistler has to offer ever since. I try to play outdoors 3 - 4 times a week, that being mountain biking and or skiing/snowboarding weather dependant. (Our tri is ride, ski and golf). In that time I have learn to appreciate the whistler trail system and all that I has to offer. I do not ride the park much, there is better riding throughout the valley, If you know where to go;) The majority of the riding I do is intermediate to advanced but no stunt, never was big into that. I try and ride Pemberton and Squamish as much as I can. They both have outstanding trail networks.

Scott Green

Guide NameThe Magnet has been in Whistler for 25 years since running away from Ontarible as a young man. He is one the of the first people to drag us up to the Spruce Lake area in 1900 and opened up some of the finest BIG single-track riding in B.C.. Loves to talk and rides nice and smooth and knows tons of historical and cultural gems of the area. Spend a day riding with Scott and he will fill you in on what’s going on and take you on some of his favorite trails.

Fanny Paquette

Guide NameI am originally from Montreal, Quebec, in 2001 I made my first move to Whistler. The big mountains and an endless trail network captivated my attention. I soon found myself back in Montreal studying Massage Therapy. After I finished with school I quickly brought my newfound knowledge back to Whistler and began working as a therapist and also dealing with my obsession for riding both my XC and downhill bike. In the last few years my XC riding has taken a life of its own and I have found myself searching out physically demanding rides and craving epic adventures. Last fall I had the opportunity to ride in La Ruta de loss Conquistadores, a 4-day race across Costa Rica. The experience refreshed my original love for mountain biking. I love the technical riding that Whistler and the surrounding areas have to offer. Bouncing around on a short travel bike over the roots and rocks keeps a smile on my face, although I still love a good day of riding downhill trails. Having the options to ride lift accessed DH or up and down or across a mountain pass keeps me alive and excited for the summer.

Jerome David

Guide NameJerome has been the trails director for the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association since 2004. Jerome spent the last 5 summers as a guide in the Whistler Mountain Bike park and spends his winters guiding for Whistler Heli-Ski. He loves XC riding and is looking forward to earning his downhill runs through heart pounding climbs. Originally from Switzerland, he speaks French, German and of course English.

Cory Rosie Leis

Guide NameHyper-allergic to the 9 to 5 work week, Cory, affectionately known as ‘Rosie’, has been tramping into the Whistler backcountry for the last 15 years on fat tires and skins. Very comfortable in the deep backcountry, he prefers the big epic rides of the Chilcotin Wilderness “The sheer amount of beautiful alpine you can cover in a full day’s ride is mind blowing, literally riding three or four different valleys filled with wildflowers and grizzlies… Riding up there changes your life.” Inspired by the topography and people of the Coastal Mountains, he now carries his camera everywhere he travels bringing back images of the mountain and travel lifestyle he lives. Check out his website at www.mountainculture.ca.
